This module introduces students to the practical and creative processes required for the production of interactive multimedia. Activities foster experimentation and conceptual understanding of interactive design processes, establishing ‘Ergodynamic’ design strategies and critical conceptual skills, combined with technical production skills.

IDAT 103 -
Design interrelationships and comparisons between various media types and their applications, such as: text/graphic based; broadcast - radio/TV; audio-visual presentation; multimedia systems; computer-based training/ computer-aided learning; analogue interactive video systems; digital multimedia platforms.
IDAT 104 -
To develop a sophisticated understanding of contemporary new media discourses through critical readings of academic discourses on technology and media. To enable students to understand the relationship between theory and practise and the creative processes in the work and research with theory. To develop research, debating and writing skills.
SOFT131 -
This module introduces students to the fundamentals of software design and implementation, leading to a focus on multimedia and internet applications. It uses a common development environment (such as Visual BASIC, or Delphi Pascal) as a vehicle to introduce students to generic programming concepts and best practice, which is language and environment independent. Examples will have a multimedia and/or internet aspect to them.

AINT204 - A series of Artificial Intelligence lectures with look at the in depth source for new and old AI. The lecture demand that you submit 3 pieces of flash related coursework.
IDAT201 -
The simulacrum is an individually produced presentation that encapsulates a reinterpretation or innovatory development of an object. The presentation of the object should be in the form of a 90 second animation / video. Through the lecture series you will develop an understanding of what 'object' may represent and your simulacrum will be the vessel in which you present it.Whatever your chosen object is, it's design, soundtrack, visual presentation and physical packaging of your project should all be derived from the properties held within your object and its history.
